Spring to Summer

Spring is here! After long months of cold winter weather, I am ready to store my winter gears (aka the thick sweaters, parkas and wool coats) in exchange for some lighter, fun summer clothings. But one little problem arises.. it is not exactly warm enough to go out in my sundress or shorts, cami and sandals just yet and as much as I want to dive straight into the pink and orange of the Spring, the rainy weather out there put me in perspective.

Color Palette It is almost a no-brainer that you can't go wrong with black, brown and gray in the bleak winter months but how do you transition into the pastels and bright colors of summer? I suggest starting first with the beige and earth tones (think green, muted red) and as we moving forward into the summer months, gradually bring out the bright-colored accessories - an orange belt, a pink bangle, a bright pair of sandals to complement the outfit. Eventually you will be able to bring out your starbust yellow shift dress! ;)

How to Layer I think one of the key difference between a stylish and un-stylish person is the ability to layer. Dress with many layers that enable you to transition from the cooler morning to the warmer afternoons. A classic cardigan, a tasteful scarf or a fun pair of leggings would very easily do it for you.

Accessories Time to pack away your heavy scarfs and bring out those stylish sunglasses. A unique piece of accessory or accent piece is the easiest way to fashion-up without breaking the bank. The most important thing this Spring/Summer.....

Have fun and Don't forget the Sunscreen. :)
